1. Recommended Cleaning Method (Routine Cleaning)
Since silicone material can be sensitive to certain chemicals, it is best to follow these steps:
Use a Soft Cloth: Avoid abrasive scrubbers or rough towels, as they can create microscratches
where bacteria can grow. Use a microfiber cloth or sterile gauze .
Diluted Neutral Detergent: Mix a small amount of neutral detergent (like dish soap) with
warm water. Dampen a cloth, wring it out thoroughly, and wipe the surface of the cover.
Alcohol Swabs (70% Isopropyl Alcohol): This is the most common disinfection method.
Ensure the swab is not dripping wet; wipe the surface gently and allow it to air dry
immediately.
2. Precautions (What to Avoid)
To prevent sensor malfunction or silicone degradation, please avoid the following:
Do Not Submerge: Even if the sensor has an IP (waterproof) rating, never submerge it in
liquid. Unless you have removed the silicone cover to wash it separately, never soak the
unit.
No Harsh Chemicals: Avoid bleach, thinners, or strong acidic cleaners. These can cause
the silicone to harden (calcify) or discolor over time.
No Autoclave (High-Pressure Sterilization): The EzSensor and its silicone cover are not
designed for autoclaving. High heat and pressure will deform the material.
3. Maintenance Tips
Use Barrier Envelopes: Using a disposable plastic barrier over the silicone cover during
exams prevents 90% of contaminants from reaching the sensor, making maintenance
much easier.
Ensure Full Dryness: Always let the cover air dry completely after cleaning. Trapped
moisture can lead to odors or bacterial growth.
Note: If the silicone cover is severely discolored, stretched, or torn, it may affect the grip or
hygiene. In such cases, it is best to replace it with a new one.
