X-Omat CR Plate Cleaner has been discontinued
Carestream Dental has discontinued X-Omat CR Plate Cleaner due to a manufacturing interruption.
X-Omat was specifically developed for routine cleaning of CR imaging plates and was used to remove dust, dirt, fingerprints and other surface contaminants that may affect image quality. The product was intended for cleaning and maintenance of the imaging plate surface – not for disinfection.

How should CR imaging plates be cleaned now?
Until Carestream Dental has approved a suitable replacement solution, the following interim cleaning procedure is recommended for CR imaging plates:
- Clean, dry, non-abrasive, lint-free wipe or cloth
- Deionized or demineralized water
- Clean, dry, non-abrasive, lint-free wipe or cloth
- Deionized or demineralized water
Cleaning instructions
1. Dampen the cloth
Lightly dampen a lint-free wipe or cloth with a small amount of deionized or demineralized water. Do not apply water or any other liquid directly to the imaging plate. Excessive moisture may damage the plate.
2. Clean the imaging plate
Gently and evenly wipe the surface to remove dust, fingerprints and other surface contaminants. Gentle pressure may be used to remove persistent marks.
3. Dry thoroughly
Dry the imaging plate thoroughly using a clean, dry, non-abrasive, lint-free cloth.
Do not allow the imaging plate to air-dry.
This procedure helps maintain the surface integrity of the imaging plate and preserve image quality while Carestream Dental evaluates suitable alternative cleaning solutions.
